REPORT OF UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECTS

On November 25, 1965, at 8:05 P.M. M.S.T., an observer with a background in aircraft identification and astronomy reported a sighting of 30 to 50 unidentified objects. The observer, accompanied by his wife and her son, noted that the objects appeared as a flame-blue cluster with an apparent diameter of 3 to 4 degrees. The objects were initially stationary relative to one another but moved as a swarm toward the south. Approximately 10 to 15 seconds into the observation, the objects began to swarm like bees, forming two undulating V-shapes, which eventually merged into a single large V-formation. The observer estimated the speed of the objects to be too high for aircraft or orbital objects. The total duration of the sighting was estimated at 30 to 45 seconds. The observer contacted a friend at the Sky Harbor Control Tower, who did not witness the event but checked with the F.A.A. Radar Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico; the radar center reported no contact. The observer noted the weather conditions as having thin cirrus clouds in the west with excellent sky transparency.
