On September 22, 1965, a civilian witness in Clover, Minnesota, observed a single, solid, steel-gray spherical object for approximately 12 minutes. The object, estimated to be about four feet in diameter, featured dark markings and a small protrusion at its base. The witness, who identified as an amateur ornithologist and artist, reported that the object was perfectly silent. It arrived with the wind, landed on the ground about 75 yards from the observer, remained momentarily, and then rose silently and steeply before disappearing into the clouds.
