On the night of August 11, 1965, a 22-year-old witness reported observing an unidentified object while at a drive-in movie theater in Waterford, Connecticut. The witness, who was alone in their car, noticed a dark speck moving in a straight line across the face of the moon. The witness claimed to have observed the object for approximately ten minutes, noting that it appeared to orbit the moon three times every two minutes. Later that evening, the witness observed the same object again, noting that it stopped for five minutes before continuing its orbit. The witness, a business student and furniture store owner, expressed concern about the potential impact of reporting such a sighting on their business reputation, emphasizing that they were not seeking publicity.
