Sighting Report — Mulberry, Florida, June 1964

This document consists of a correspondence and a sighting report regarding an unidentified aerial phenomenon observed in Mulberry, Florida, in June 1964. The witness, who was traveling with a band to a parade in Sarasota, reported observing a bright object while standing near a road at night. The witness described the object as a bright star that moved in an irregular pattern across the sky, stopped, and then grew smaller until it disappeared. The witness wrote to the Project Blue Book Information Office at the Pentagon requesting information on UFOs and reporting the sighting. In response, the Air Force, through the office of Mrs. Hunt (SAFOICC), sent the witness an FTD Form 164 to be completed for further evaluation. The official conclusion recorded on the FTD Form 164 indicates that the case was classified as 'Insufficient Data for Evaluation' because the form was never returned by the witness. The military assessment noted that the object could have been a satellite, an aircraft, or 'almost anything'.
