Project 10073 Record Card and Correspondence — Stamford, Connecticut, October 1962

On October 17, 1962, an individual in Stamford, Connecticut, reported observing an unidentified aerial phenomenon while working on the roof of their home. The witness described a bright, shining object moving from the North-East to the North-West, noting that the object appeared to 'jump' as it traveled. After moving approximately 100 yards over the course of two minutes, the object reversed direction. At this juncture, two additional objects appeared—one from the North-East and one from the South—joining the first to form a triangular formation. The three objects remained in this configuration for approximately thirty seconds before separating. One object proceeded North, another South, and the first returned to a North-Westerly course. The two objects moving North and South disappeared within 15 seconds, while the first object continued until it was out of view. The witness subsequently wrote to the National Aeronautics and Space Agency (NASA) to report the event, requesting that the information be forwarded to the Air Force if deemed relevant. The official record card for Project 10073 concludes that the maneuvers and speeds observed were consistent with aircraft.
