PROJECT 10073 RECORD CARD — Kane, Pennsylvania, 22 July 1961

This document consists of a Project 10073 record card and a subsequent Air Force staff message regarding a UFO sighting in Kane, Pennsylvania, on July 22, 1961. The report describes a single, light-colored, dumbbell-shaped object connected by a visible shaft. The object was observed for approximately 15 minutes, appearing on the northwest horizon and moving with a slow up-and-down motion before disappearing on the southeast horizon. The primary report was relayed by an individual identified as the Acting Chief of the Security and Law Enforcement Division in Kane, PA. This individual did not personally witness the event but collected information from two primary observers and five additional unnamed witnesses at the same location. The Air Force investigation concluded that there was insufficient information to form a logical explanation for the sighting. No radar contact was made, and no photographs or film were taken. The report notes that the location of the sighting was too far from the Griffiss AFB control tower or the Syracuse SAGE sector to provide additional technical data. Consequently, no follow-up action was taken.
