Report on Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) — 19 November 1960

This document contains a formal report regarding an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) sighting that occurred on 19 November 1960 at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. The witness, who was at his residence in Capehart, Tyndall AFB, observed an elliptical object at approximately 1810 hours. He described the object as being the size of a baseball, larger than the evening star, and very bright. The object initially traveled from south to north with a steady course, though it exhibited a slight weaving motion in the rear. The witness noted that the object appeared to be at a great altitude, as it seemed to be reflecting sunlight. The sighting lasted between eight and ten minutes. The witness, who had observed other satellites and UFOs previously, noted that this particular object was less stable than others he had seen. He reported the incident to the Tyndall Base Weather Station. Following the report, an investigation was conducted, and a check with Spacetrack confirmed that the object observed was the satellite Echo I.
