Project 10073 Record Card and UFO Report — Pineville, Louisiana, November 1958

This document consists of a Project 10073 record card and an associated military teletype report regarding an Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) sighting that occurred on November 20, 1958, five miles south of Pineville, Louisiana. The witness reported observing an object that appeared stationary for approximately five minutes at an altitude of roughly 2,000 feet. The object was described as being oblong, similar in shape to a large army helicopter, and appeared to be the size of a half-dollar from the observer's perspective. The object was whitish-yellow in color and eventually transformed into a cluster of three to five lights. Following this, the object performed a 90-degree turn relative to the observer's line of sight, moving away at an increasing speed before disappearing below the tree line. The observer noted that the object made no sound during the encounter. The military report, issued by the Commander of the 653rd ACWRON at England Air Force Base, notes that the observer also reported seeing a jet in the area at the time of the sighting. The official conclusion recorded on the project card suggests that it is highly possible the observer witnessed a helicopter or other conventional aircraft. The document also notes that this was the second report provided by the witness within a three-day period.
