Vancouver Oval

On the night of July 7, 1957, at approximately midnight, an individual identified as H. M. Brown of 4423 William Street, North Burnaby, Vancouver, British Columbia, observed an unidentified aerial phenomenon. The witness described the object as a bluish, metallic, oval-shaped craft, estimating its dimensions to be 40 feet in length and 15 feet in width. The object was observed at an estimated altitude of 3000 feet, though the witness expressed uncertainty regarding this measurement. The object remained stationary for a minimum of five minutes. Upon initiating movement, the witness noted the appearance of a dark, stool-like figure positioned toward the front of the craft. The object proceeded to travel in a level course, executing a series of sharp, precise turns that formed a perfect square pattern. After completing this maneuver, the object appeared to brighten, oriented itself toward the southeast, and departed the area at a high rate of speed, disappearing within one minute. The weather conditions at the time of the sighting were reported as clear.
