The witness noted that the objects were 'falling' and grew in size as they approached the ground, estimating their altitude as higher than 1000 feet. The witness was in a car moving south at 20-25 miles per hour when the objects were first spotted. The witness reported no sound associated with the objects and indicated that they did not appear to stand still, speed up, or change shape. The weather conditions were reported as clear with a slight breeze and a temperature between 28 and 30 degrees Fahrenheit. The witness was accompanied by another individual who also observed the objects. In the final evaluation, the Air Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC) concluded that the sighting was likely a meteor. The investigator noted that the description provided by the witness was very similar to a fireball and that there was a high level of meteor activity during that time of year.
