The witness reported seeing a single, round, dull yellowish-gray object, approximately the size of a basketball, traveling at a high rate of speed in a straight, level path from east to west. The duration of the sighting was recorded as one minute. The report includes meteorological data for the time of the incident, noting partly cloudy conditions. The official conclusion reached by the Air Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC) was that the characteristics of the object—specifically its flight path, color, and duration—were consistent with a jet aircraft, and a subsequent check confirmed the presence of a jet aircraft in the area at that time. The document includes a hand-drawn sketch by the witness illustrating the object and its trajectory relative to the horizon, as well as handwritten annotations by military personnel questioning the report's validity, with one note stating, 'Don't understand why the local filter center, GOC posts, etc. was compelled to do so upon receipt of this document.'
