Project 10073 Record Card — Helena, Montana, 20 August 1957

On August 20, 1957, at approximately 21:20 local time, a civilian witness in Helena, Montana, observed four unidentified objects. The witness described the objects as round and disc-shaped, with a brightness comparable to a car headlight. The observation lasted only a few seconds. According to the witness, two objects appeared, faded, and were immediately followed by two more that appeared in the same location before abruptly disappearing. The witness, a female, reported that she had previously seen similar objects in Spokane, Washington. She estimated the objects were about 200 feet away and moving very fast in a southerly direction. The weather conditions at the time were reported as clear, dry, and cool with no wind. The witness noted that there was no sound associated with the objects. The U.S. Air Force investigation concluded that the description provided by the witness was indicative of aircraft traffic originating from Great Falls.
