This document consists of a Project 10073 Record Card and associated teletype communications regarding a UFO sighting reported in Spokane, Washington, on July 30, 1955. A civilian witness reported observing a single, round, shiny object that appeared to be the size of a baseball when held at arm's length. The object was observed for approximately fifteen minutes and was described as drifting slowly. The report notes that the observation was visual only, with no radar contact or photographic evidence. Following the report, the Ground Observer Corps (GOC) was contacted. It was determined that a weather balloon (WX balloon) had been released from Spokane at 0315Z on the same day. The official conclusion reached by the Air Technical Intelligence Center (ATIC) was that the weather balloon likely accounted for the observed object. The teletype communication confirms that the report was analyzed and that the GOC was notified of the identification of the object as a weather balloon.
