Project 10073 Record Card and Daily Intsum Regarding Karachi Sighting

This document consists of a Project 10073 record card and associated intelligence summaries regarding a series of sightings in Karachi, Pakistan, on December 11, 1952. Between the hours of 0001 and 1000 local time, multiple sources reported observing four unidentified objects in the Karachi area. Witnesses described the objects as white metal discs or translucent circular objects flying at high altitude and high speed, leaving a white smokey trail behind them. One report specifically noted the objects were approximately 15 yards long and flying in parallel formation. The sightings were widely reported in the local press. The Royal Pakistan Air Force (RPAF) conducted an investigation and stated that no RPAF aircraft were operating at high altitude in the Karachi area during the time of the sightings. Furthermore, the specific times reported by witnesses did not coincide with any known RPAF high-altitude operations for either jet or piston aircraft. Local authorities suggested that the objects might have been four aircraft flying at a very high altitude leaving vapor trails, though this explanation was presented as a possibility rather than a confirmed fact. ATIC noted that the newspaper clippings referenced in the reports were not included with the official documentation. The incident was formally reported to the Commanding General of the Air Materiel Command (CG, AMC).
