Prov nr 27 — Sighting Report and Material Recovery, Strömtorp, September 1946

This document, dated September 10, 1946, details a report received by the Swedish National Defence Research Institute (FOA) regarding a sighting in Strömtorp on September 1, 1946. The witness, a painter named Gösta Axel Johansson, reported that while cycling near the Strömtorp railway station at approximately 20:10, he observed a yellowish light phenomenon measuring 2 by 3 meters. The light remained constant for about 10 seconds before vanishing. After a 5-second interval, the light reappeared in the same location for another 5 seconds. As Johansson approached the site, he perceived a silent explosion, followed by the scattering of a glowing mass over an area of 15 by 20 meters. Johansson subsequently contacted the property owner, Arvid Pettersson, who had not witnessed the event. Upon inspection, they noted a faint smell of gas. Johansson collected 'coke-like' material from the site. The report notes that the weather was dark and rainy, and no other witnesses were found.
