Sighting Report: Unidentified Flying Object near Barkåkra, 12 July

On July 12, at 00:45, a pilot named Häggberg, employed by the Swedish flight service (svensk flygtjänst), observed an unidentified flying object near Vejbyslätt, close to Barkåkra. The witness, who was traveling alone by car, reported that the object was flying at an altitude of approximately 300 meters, though he noted the altitude estimate was uncertain. The object was traveling on a westward course at high speed. It exhibited a blue-green reaction flame and left behind a long, shimmering trail of sparks. As the object passed over the road between Barkåkra and Vejbyslätt, the flame extinguished, and the object performed a dive at an angle of approximately 45 degrees. During this maneuver, the witness observed a spherical part of the object that glowed quite brightly. Due to the darkness and the intensity of the light, the witness could not discern any specific contours of the object. The weather conditions were reported as clear with good visibility.
