SIGRTIN~S This correspondence is in furtherance to our telex of the 3rd instant covering an alleged U.F.O. sighting by one Gail DACEY. Please be advised that at ~758 'hrs. 79 DEC 02, this office received a phone call from Gail (Mrs. Wayne) DACEY (DB: 08 MAY 48) of the NAPLES district, Alberta. NAP~ES is located some 20 miles northwest of WESTLOCK, Alberta. Cat. D. R. McCORRISTON of this office subsequently attended at the DACEY farm, however, no evidence could be found whip~ might remotely be connected with the apparition. The sighting and subsequent investigation occurred after sunset. On 79 DEC 03, ~pl. R.W. MOW, also of this office, attended at the DACEY farm in response to information received fro~ Mrs. DACEY to t .he effect that imprints of unknown origin had been found in the snow at or near the locatio~ of the sighting. Cpl. HOW'S examination of the imprints established that same were created by a young child (or children), prob~ly DACEY' S off-spring~ and definitely not connected ~n any way with the alleged sighting. The imprints were approximately 75 -~00 feet away from where the apparition was sighted. From investigations conducted by Cpl. MQW and Cs~. McCORRISTON, the followin~ circumstances are provided. At approximate~y 1730 hrs. 79 DEC'02, DACEX' S Doberman Pincher dog beganbarking at the rear door (outside) .of the DACEY residence. Mrs. DACEY" responded to the back door to ~nvestigate what was causing the dog to become aroused. At the back door, she found the dog facing a northwest ~irectiort from the house, looking in that direction. She observed a bright blue object glowing some 300 feet to the northwest. Mrs. DACEY walked approximately 25 feet from the house in an effort to better identify what she was looking at, then apparently became frightened and returned to the house Where she at~empted to telephone her husband at work. Between other ~elephone calla made, she had occasion to observe the object over a period of approximately 15 minutes. The object was initially noted to be a very bright blue color hQWever obaer~tion continped,, tne color dimmed ~n intensity. The object was football shaped with a length estimated at 5 feet. According to Mrs. DACEY, the length was vertical to the ground. No sound cou~d be heard aminating from ~he object, whJoh remained suspended approximately 20 feet ~ve the ground, probably due, according to Mrs. DACEY, to the dog' s continuous barking. Mrs. DACEY' S two son's, ~aUl (12 yra.) and David (9 yrs.) apparently also observed the apparition Natlonal Research Council of Canada/ Consell national de recherches du Canada U.~.O.
