At 9:00 p.m., a phone call was received from Mr. Ernest NORRIS. of Lityle Hearts Eaoc, Nfld . He advised that ho and hie family had just seen an object fall out or the sky and i t looked to them tus 11' it \~as a plano or e~mething aimnar and it wa o on fire. An immediate pn'trol was made to tho sceno by the under- oi~ned and the NORRIS family was contacted. Thoy adviood me .that their attention had firat been ae~ractod to the object by the rushing sort of noise i 1. gave off. t'hon they, saw it, it was travelli.ng in a North Eaoto~ly direction. It p~psed directly ovor _tho settlement of Lit.tlo tlenrta l!:nse at a height of approximat.oly '4 milo and then r 1e (lbruptl}t\ i=raahod into tho m~uth of tho harbour. Juat prior to . crashing, i t commenced n Hobbling sort o motion and pieces seemed to fly off it. Thoy described it ae being about oigbt to ten feet in l ength, with n toil extondine; sever al foet. beyond tl)ie. It was descrihod no heine; blood r~:~d in colour, uith tJte tail baing n fighter dhade of r od. As it ~soud over tho settlement, it gave out sufficient light to light up the settlement and distinct shadows could be soon. After a short ti.m.e , they wore able to, advise us that no planes were ov~rdue or missing anywhere in the rrovJ.D~G of ttltw.foundland.. I -- 6. FUrther enquiries in the st. Jones \11tbin area ~evealed a fUll ~onfirmation or the sighting. The description given~d the time of BiBht.ing matched in ,every detail.
