S. High1ay 31, I first noticed a very brieht llnht on the ~-::-rizon dlrectly ahl!~d of us. At first I didn ' t ~jve it a thought other than it ;..;.; ~ a tower beakon or perhaps an airplane. After seve ra 1 miles the 1 i gh t was still ~pproximately in the same proximity. If it was an airplane it mov~d too slow a nd si"'lc e there weren't any hig h objects along the road i t wasn't a beakon l:i.gltt . Finally I asked my wife if she saw the object, she did but couldn't fi~ure it Otlt. The children also saw it. About 3 or 4 miles west of tl1e 31 intersection the o~ject appeared to pass over our road in a northeasterly directio11. At this point I said it looks like a plane lookin g for a place to lancJ .. So \ve followed it. i;e turned north on a gravel road hoping to p ass close to the object. We proceeded north for nearly .a mile and saw the object l1eading eas t pass abou t a 1/4 mile ahead of tts. By this tinte we all had formed some intp ression a s to what \-le sa\v. Bright white lights like cabin windows with some amher lights and \vhat appeared to be high density landing lights. The object passed behind a farm house ancJ we hope d to s~e it a gain when we got pas t the house. It took us about 1 5 seco ds to reach the spot \vhere the objec t passe!d over the road and behind the ~.ouse. Hh~n we got there -nothing. No lights , no noise, no nothing . After considerable sca n i n g o f the sky we noticed an amber light moving a~ay frotn us to the nortl1. t~e stopped the car to '~ait a nd watch. The amb~r li ~l1t didn ' t blink i t was constant. Just when it was almost out o f sieht it turned \vest ;t,d shortly turned south . It was o n a parallel t o us moving fast. As it approached opposite us w~ listened and heard a fain t humnting nois e ... Like the hum o f an electrical trar1sformer or hig h voltage lines. l The object with the amber .tight turned west at this point. About three t es e light disappeared then came back. After a short time we decidecJ to conti e our trip home as the light disappeared. Bac k onto Road 1 8 heading west we had driven about 5 to 8 miles whe n the , b r t li~hts appeared a gain . Tl1e kids an~ I jumped out quickly hoping to see the object pass overhead - -But a gain nothit:g. "tor onl y a few second s '"e a gain heard the same hummin~ noise as before. Then nothing, no noise, no light, no object. This time we d idn' t even see a n amber ligl1ts in th~ distance.
