PURPOSE: This report is in response to l-lork Order Number 67-41, submitted by Major H. Quintanilla, requesting an analysis of a roll of 8 mm motion picture film which allegedly contains photography of an unidentified flying object. 2. ANALYSIS: The entire roll of film was scanned and was found to be blank with the exception of approximately 11 feet. vli thin this footage are two small, roughly circular bright spot images. A detailed phot9graphic analysis of these images is .not possible due to the lack of camera data, specifically focal length.and range to the 3. An examination of the film by a photo processing specialist reveals several similar circular bright spot images occurring outside of the normal frame area. On the entire roll of film there is no evidence o.f the frame lines which would be e:;-::pected on a normally e:xpose1 8 mm motion picture film. This raises the possibility that t~e fiL~ was not e~)csed or was run through a camera where the light path .f:-o::t the lens r.o t~e film ~:as obstructed. h. Further analysis could po3sibly be accomplished if more data was furnished in regard to r-he co:nments in Paragraphs 2 and 3. P50TO iL~ALY3IS BY: A??ROVED BY: WILLIAM L. Fbrwarded for your infoimation and exploitation is a roll of 8n:m movie film which is alleged to contain photography of the same or a stmilar UFO as that reported in the re message. The film was exposed on 10 March 1967 by Mr who provided the infoxmation in the original report. .At the ttme of the original report, Mr. vised that he would attempt to photograph the object and, if successful' would re1ease the film to this organize- tion. The inclosed film was obtained from Mr on 23 March 3 Mr. was unable to.descri be the camera or to provide any infonnation as to the type o f camera or lenses, the lense opening or shutter speeds or processing method, except to say that the camera was "botrowed " and "wide open." 1 4. The inclosed f iLm was reviewed on 23 March 1967 but dvailabel technical equipment does not peimit further exploitation or a logical conclusio n as to the cause of this s ighting. 5. A brief evaluation of this film would be appreciated. Further, !-1r. equests the return of the original film when exploi ta- tion as been completed.
