PHO 10 ANALYSIS REPORT DATE OF REPORT '1;.5 !-:;.rch 12.Q UNIDENTIFIED FLYll!G OBJECT Colorado Springs, Colorado DATE November 1966 PHOTOGRAPHY 1. PURPOSE: This report is in reply to a request submitted by Major Quintanilla (TDSTR) to determine the identity of the object photographed. 2. ANALYSIS: Examination of the seven submitted polaroid-type prints has negated double exposure and/or retouching; the photography appears genuine insofar as content is conc e rned. object, which appears only on photos one d two, was photographed at night using a flash attacr~ent. The camera focal length was apparently set for close range as is evidenced by the relatively high degree of detail in the foreground. Source indicated that the object was circular with a domed top and flat bottom having a diameter of 20 to 25 feet. The object ph()tographed has the appearance of a "crushed" or "squashed" cylinder and exhibits a fairly high degree of detail and reflectivity as is indicated by the reflection of the flash attach- ment. By computing the camera focal length versus the size of the object as it appears in the ph~tography, it would have to be positioned at least JOO feet from the camera le~s. At this distance the flash attachlr.ent vrould not illuminate the object. The object appears to be located on the ground and immediately beyond the perimeter of light emitted by the flash attac ent. The exact size of the object is not knovm but its apparent distance from the camera lens indicates the dia~eter is likely to be between 1 and 2 feet. PHOTO ANALYSIS BY: APPROVED ,;BY: DOUGL.A..S H.
