In most cases, we have found the cause of these sightings to b e an aircraft towing an electrical advertising sign. The Chicago area bas a company engaged in this t ype of adver- ~ising. We have found these aircraft advertising a furniture sale, a Ford Motor Canpany sale, and a Go-Go band. It i s difficult to read the message ;mless the observer is fair~ close to the aircraft. These aircraft no:rmall.,-f l y at a ltitudes of 1000 -1500 fee"t, therefore, I ,muld es'ti!Jate that if the air- craft was a :nile fran your position, then JOU '"'ou.ld see only sequential. rows of ele1::tric lights.
