The The object ~hich you have described is similar to either a meteor or satellite decay. Several essential bits of information ~ere ommitted precluding a firm evaluation. The duration was ommitted as ~ll as the direction of travel f o r the arc distance through which the object passed. s~tellite decays are distinguished from meteor obsez~tions by the direction of flight ot the object and duration of the sighting. A satellite observation from Massachussetts would hold an easterly ~omponent and the duration would be slightly longer that that associated vitb meteor observations. Several essential bite ot 1ntor.mation were ommitted precluding a r1rm evaluation. The duration was anm1tted as well as the direction or travel tor the arc distance through which the object paaaed. Satellite decays are dist1ngU1ahed rrat teor observations by the direction or flight or the object and duration or the sighting. A satellite observation from Massachusetts would hold an aaaterl7 component and the duration would be slightl7 longer than that aaaooiated with meteor obser- Sincerely MASTON M.
