We are in accord with your conclusions on sightings three through eleven, as being the advertising plane from Beverly Airport. ile these reports are of identified objects and not unidentified reports the infol'mation does serve a s confirmation of the visual characteristics displayed by aircraft vith advertising banners. The slgbtings of vttnesses one and two cannot be evaluated as the advertising plane since the object liaS observed at the same time. Tbis sighting presents some characteristics of a reflection of searchlight/spotlight or other ground lights. Verification required for ane valuation of this nature would include the weather dat~ to establish a cloud or haze layer and the presence of a searchlight/spotlight in the area. The description of the second object is in accord ~th this evaluation. The object was elliptiaa shape wi tb .fuzzy edg~s, no noise, dull grey color diffUsed vi th yellowish tint. The motion is also high~ suggestive of this phenomena. In your ~ontinued investigation this possibility coWd be checked. Did s ~arsher have the feeling that the second object vas trying to inte:-cept or catch the advertising plane, in a manner suah 98 someone with a spotlight perhaps attempting to focus on this planet The Air Force wishes to thank you for your interest in aerial phenomena.
