'I Just before dawn, sever a l g round observers ncar Canberra saw a large whtte-glowinp; object traveling no rthea s t across u.e j dark sky. It moved with an odd wobble a s though loSinf~ powP.r, or partly out of control. T hen the observ(:rs saw a smaller ob- ject, visible with a faint red light, have l'ing ahead. The lar~e white device flew straight toward the small UFO and appearl'd to strike it, bouncing back. Then the large UFO turned, no l onger wobbling, and raced out of sight. The small red li~ht sputtered and then disappeared. (It has been suggested that this c ould have been s ome unknown type o! r e fueling or rechar~lng proc:ess.) The observers' r epot was investigated by the Scient1!1c At- tache of the American Embassy at Canberra, Dr. Paul S1pl<.-, and by two !'ASA engineers. T hey concluded that the object s were not any known earthmade craft and the y had no expl:lnatlCn fo r he s ighting. The inci dent was investigated by the Scientific Attache of the American E mba ssy at Can- b erra, Dr. Paul Siple and two NASA engineers. Just before day near Canberra, a large, white glowing object travelled across the sky in a northeast direction. The object was wobbling and appeared to the observ- ers to be out or control. Nearby a small- er UFO hovered, showing a faint red light. The large UFO moved in a straight line very fast for about four seconds and appeared to collide with the smaller UFO.
