Gentlemen: uecatur, Georgia On the evening of March 23, at almost precisely eight O'clock, I saw, roughly northeast from Decatur (Atlanta), an object float down from from the sky and disappear behind rooftops. It seemed to go with infinite leisure but I cannot be sure whether I observed it for one seco nd or three. It was not less than one second. The object was roughly a third as l arge as the sun seems to be when directly overhead o~ a winter day. It w~s blue in color and edged with gold. It was round, but was pulled downward toward a raindrop shape, especially the gold edg e which made a streamer of soarks toward the earth. It wa s also oulled a little out of shaoe at the to~ wherd the gold streamed a little upward. I have watched both papers and magazines for an exolanation, and finally be~an to wonder if my observ~tion might be of value--I a~ q uite sure yo u h ave h a d othe r descriptions of this obenomenon. It wa s the most soectacularlv beautiful t hing I h~ve vver seen. I ah:-uld be most interest ed to know what I sa~. There is no doub~ o f my having seen something. Very sincerely,
