On the night of 23 July 1962 a numbe r o f calls vrcre rccei ved from civilian sources reporting o. "light e d objectt: in the vicinity of Bremerton, llash. Soon after these calls "trere received from these civilian sources, a :pilot of a NcChord aircraft uho had just landed at IIcChord e.lso reported o.n object in the vicinity o:~ Br~erton. This pilot, considered an experienced obDcrver, reported that the o~ject unquestionably in his nd nd vus a shooting star. Additionally, a Civil Air Patrol pilot wus reported to h ave contacted civil flight officials about an object sighted in the same vicinity at the same time and h e also thot\1ht tho.t it "t-Tns a shooting star. 3.
