I have been told to contact y,u by the AF Reserve unit in this area While swimming in Lake l~ichigan at a beach nPar Sauga- tuck, !-Jiohigan I aaw an object in the sky whioh I at ~irst took to be a meteor. This object which seemed to be very distant, although it was very bright. w~s of twn colors. It was red on the le~d ~ortion ~nd white nn the rear ~orti~n. It m~ve~ very steadily out of si~ht in a westernly direct:on. I first sighted this object at 11:51 EST. J ~aw it ~gPin ~t 1?:04 .AXvt and 12: 32 Alvi. There were tall trees behind JTlP so th~t the objects location at the time of theEe sight1n~s W? S a roxi tely overhead. The object was visible for a rox1- matP-l~r one ( 1) minute at each sight in~ before it went out of sight. It covered an arc of apnrx. 25 -30 degrees in that Judging by these fi~ures this would mean thAt this ob- ject would make one com~lete orbit around the Rerth in 13 or 14 minutes which is much faster than any s~tellites that I have heard of. I also understand th~t the sate orbit presently are all moving from west to east '"'' h.,-ch ; s the exact o ... nosite of this ob iect.
