Color -similar to a star d. Number-2 e. Formation - 2 f. Tail or Trail -none, but the two objects seemed to be traveling in a n oblique formation. g. Unusual Features -It seemed that the satellite Echo was being 2. Desc ription o f Course of Objects: a . Whe n I fir s t noticed the two UFO' s at 1945 hours, 9 May 1961, at Capehart Housing, Tyndall AFB, Florida, azimuth 250, the two objects seemed to be traveling in a n oblique formation. I watched f o r a while to make sur e they were not aircraft. I called T /Sgt Joseph T. T erlesky (Capehart) and asked him t o observe the UFO tra over the Gulf. In the meantime, I called Mr":'" Panama City, Florida t o see U h e had seen o r th e o ther object. H e said he had seen E c ho about the same time I did and he expected it t o pass again at 2045 hours. I then called Captain Allan E. Aaronson about the E c h o and the UFO. After Echo and the other UFO had disappeared I c hecked with TSgt T erlesky to find ou1 what he saw. He n o ticed the UFO breaking away from Echo but he did not observe E c h o because I only requested h i m to watc h the UFO over the Gulf. Captain Aaronso n and Mr. only saw Ech o . I saw Echo twice and t h e other UFO. b . Angle o r elevation and azimuth of the two object s : See attached <Ptch . O bject .A seemed to be commg o n a n azimuth o f 250. Object B seemed to be coming on an azimuth of 2500 a.fter it broke away fro m Echo and it headed o n a 215 azimuth. c . Angle and a.zimuth of object seem~d to disapgear on an approxi- mate heading of -Object A (E c ho) 25; Object B 150 . d. Description of flight path and maneuver s of objects: The objects traveled as follows: Object A -southwest to n ortheast; Object B -southwest to southeast. Manner in which objects disappeared: Fade d out. f. Length of time object s were visible: Object A, 20 minutes; Object B, I observe d it for ten minutes and Sergeant Terlesky for five minutes.
