Dear sirs: Fort ,;.rorth 10, July 3rd, 1961 It was only recently that I saw your address mentioned in a magazine. I wish to report four UFO sightings I've made this year. The first one occured on the nieht of February 12th,~ 1961. My family was just returning from an out-of-tovm trip and \Ve were traveling on a highway going in a southeasterly direction. The time was 7:30 P . M. and it was dark out. I was sitting in the front seat of the c a r when I noticed t he UFO. As I l ooked throu~h the windshe i lcl, there v1as nothing unusual about the object a t first. It wa s a white li.ght I s a w and I didn't see any b ody be11ind it. It moved from left to right a"Ytd once flashed green. The object moved to the right, circled a few times, end returned to the le~ft. It kept going and soon dis- appeared behind the.scenery. I watched it for approximately one I dont remember the date of tl1~ next s ighting , but these are listee i n cronologica.l ord~r. It wa s dark out--between 8:45 and 9:00, I believe. I was t aJ<:ing the garbage out to the aley and st8.yed a fevr moments afterward a s u sual. Looking at the stars, I ~aw noticed that one of them v:a a apparently movi n.g . I got it "fixed" on two other stars and l ater on a wire from_a post close to me. I ran to the house to. get my telesco-pe. I returned to find the light indistinguishable from the stars. I stood there for several moments and finally went into the house. Both this sighting and the one above'were made i n cl:-ar skies. This light was heading in a southerly direction. The third sighting I remember ~ell. It occured on the n l , was looking at the st:y ( I 'I',! in"teres~2d i:1. \!FO' s a_Y)_d the like, so I observe whenever I have the chance). I spotted a..l1 ob ject which seemed to b e a dull- silver in color end v1as not at e.l l chiny. Its a l ti t1.1de did not s eem to b e very high, and it '.'Jas travelinz at a low speed, I might say it \vas cruisin;; . No so1.LYld . The d:J.t e 'N3.S J""L.tne 3rd' 1961 . Time: bet v:ecn ~: 30 nncl 4 :00 n . r;. I don' t it until it wan ou t of sight y last sighting was at 8: 41 P . i:~. on June 21st, 1961. I v1as outside in the back yard looking skyvvar d vvhen I noticed a light, which I first thou:3"ht to b e red i n c olour, but it late-r seemed white. I could!:' t tell v1hether e~ the light \'Jas lo,:l or in altitude. It seemed to be traveling very slowly, but not slow enough to be a so.telli t e . It went from sout h to r:orth a n d I viewed it for two or three minutes. 'Nhen I first saw it, I r an into the house and got my 20x30 t elescope. It (the UPO) v1as not very big, although larger than a satellite , and was out of my sight before I could get the telescope focused properly. I lieve the sky was clear. I didn't check these sightings with the air force here in town (which, by the way, is Carswell) and read of no other similar ones in this area. I really saw these things. This is not a prank. Perhaps you'd like to know a little about me. This.year I graduated from the ninth grade and am 15 y~ars old. My grades aren't low and I neither smoke, nor drink. I have two hobbies. One is reading science-fiction and fantasy and. corresponding with others interested in the same things. My other hobby is reading about UFO's and flying saucers. Yes, I b eliev e in flying saucers, so you'll probably throw this letter away. A friend of mine re- cently wrote me that some persons he knows have spotted UFO's. If you like, I can write t o these people and a s k them to write Yours sincerely, ,..
