The infor . .,ation furnished rae by co:.fA TC, Randolph Air Forc0 Base, Te.;:as, indic:.ltcd the rocket uas due to ra-enter the earth's at~osphere durine the !Jcriod from late June through nid-July. I requested that the local AACS and \veather Detachment Corru1anders alert the control to~rer and weather observer personnel to be on the lookout for the re- . turnln~ rocket. At 061.5Z I received the report from TSet concerning the object he savr at the drive-in movie. Just after transmittlng s sighting report, at about 0800Z, iiajor Harrisor., the ~feather Detachment Commander, reported the sighting made by SSgt Anderson. I transmitted this sighting also, After comparing notes with Captain Nathan on this date (14 July), I see that I inadvertently reported the time of Sgt. Anderson's sighting as l9JlZ rather than 07JlZ . From about 08JlZ until lOJlZ, !1ajor Harrison, Sgt. Anderson, Air1nan Fletcher, Hrs and myself posted ourselves on the roof of the remote observing site in hopes of again sighting the objecto We r.1ade no sighting . As the sight- ing by Sgt. S~t.
