Object was the size of ObJect was observed by "IBDY 1Dd1: s throughout the state of Louis From all indications the object appears to have been a meteor. UFO Major Cathcart, TAC COC Unidentified flying object si2hted by 40lst Tactical Fighter Wing personnel. Five sources at England AFB sighted object between CST. One was a 40lst pilot on way to Keesler AFB LCol DeWitt, 40lst tower personnel, the England AFB Airdrome Officer, and a Braniff Airlines pilot o~er Monroe, La. Object was described as appearing 11ke a bright light moving slowly and giving oft sparks. Disapp red to the northwest. AF pilot states light bright enough to read all instruments. Airdrome Officer states unlike any meteor he had ever seen. New Orleans control center states no known A/C with problems in the area. England AFB reports no local flying in the area.
