Bl:.:i>. nights the brilliant red light came frorn the west, traveling due east, paralle 1 with Sunset B oulevar<l. A n d both night s i t s top Jed and remained motion- less ov~:-the northwest corner of Sunset Boulevard and L a Brea Avenue 5 to 8 minutes . Frida y nig h t it continued its motion due ea!'::it (after the 5 minu t e stop) for <:>.bout two blocks, then veered to the southeast and disappeared. S a tu rda y night the r cd light made its appearanc e about the same tin1e ( 11: 15 PM) see:ningly f ollowing the identica l course, west to east, parallel with Sunset Bouleva::-d. This tim~ i t s first stop "vas about a block eas t of .La Brea, wlu-:re it remaine d stationary for approximately 10 minutes. Elevation of the light at this p oint was approximately 560 feet. Then , as witnesses watched, there was a loud explosion, and flas h of b l u ish white light (flash of light was direct e d downward and westward), and the sudden formation of a. "mushroom" shaped \vhite cloud.
