This cannot ba of any in~er~st to you, but since I have t o clean the ggaage out r.lis morning , I thought that I would delay it. First let me s a y that I have never seen a flying saucer, a space ship, or anyt~hlng ,.ri t h green he13.ds, or portholes o n a.m the manager of a depart!"lent store, have a college edncation, as has my "'rife, am 41 years old, and am not a "nut '' so keep this under y our hat. In October 1959, the exact date escapes me at the present, but it was during the third or fourth week of the month(I could find out the exact date with-~ome little ~unting around) My' wife, y?ung s o n and daughter, and I went hunting ioli th a ranche r in eastern Oregon, the exact spot was Telephone rtidge, and is about 40 miles east of 3nterprise, Oregon. The c hildren we!'e in bed, the ti;ne was about 9:15 P.~H. a.."ld my iri.fe, I and the ohher couple were si tt1.ng a:-ound the camp fire drinking coi':'e ~on't get any ideas, becausa we do not dri~ anything but co~fee on hunt~ng trips, -;.re hunti. The moon was out and almost ciirectly o~.rerhead. Broken cumulous clouds 111er in the sky, and they ""ay have co"~ ... ered about one fourth of the sky in broken p3.tc~es. ~Je were ca.rnned at about 5,000 feet and 'lie estimate the c:ouds to have been a t about 10,000 to 1 2,000 feet. From out camp sight which was in an open meadow we observed from about 10 miles away what appeared to b e headlights on a car or truck come over the top of a hill. As we watched we could see that th~J were not truck ligbts since they were up in the sky as they came closer. I s a y they, but mean it, s~nce we sa~ just one light in the sky. I t. came t o 1rithin approx tt~o or t'b..ree miles of us tak i:1g a period of about fifteen minutes to reach this spo t .
