Project Officer Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Gentlemen: Following is a report of a U.P.O. sighting made at approximate~ 19 hundred hours , West of Maple Heights, 0 . -estimated to be considerably in excess of ten miles distance. Probably 50,000 feet or more. Slightly larger and brighter than North Star when viewed with the naked r:,ye. None (from viewing position) Observed for ten to fifteen minutes until obscured by dark clouds in western sky. OBSERVATIONS \f.(TH 50 PO~VER TE:I.F.SCOPE: FJJ.iptical (vertical) 20 percent off perfect circle. Light tan, b~lieved to be reflectit~ color of setting sun as though ~hrough th" object. Appearance is that of sun's rays passing through a white or silve r tran~lucent object. HEAT Object gave off dancing heat waves to distance of about 10 percent INDICATIONS: of its size.
