(~) During the month of December 1958, the r e was eported a UFO sighting near Goteborg , Sweden. In Jo.nuary 1959, the Air Attache i n Stockholm requeste~d US;\.F.8 ATI co~peration with Swedish Ai~ Force intelligence officers in eva l u ating the circumstances of the reported sig hting. rhe A~I r epresentative j oined the Swedi s h group i n classifying the reported siehting a s a deliberate hoax . There was no intelli- gence report submitted by this Dir e ctorat e since it was de- cided that the v e rbal report r e ndered by the AT! representa- tive upon h i s return t o this Headquarters was sufficient. 2. This on9 wa s a phenomenon observed over the Swedish island of Go t - lend on 15 October 1957. The case wa s a sighting of so-called angel s h air" \Yhich was drifting in a north77asterly direction over tha island. Some "hairs" were founci a nd analyzed chemi- lly at the University of Uppsala. They were s hown to b e slightly spun natural silk which had been subjected to mechanical strass.
