One of the members of the party sai d l o ok at the falling star. Ho\>Tever wha t we s a w wa s much brighter than any falling star and was travelling absolutely horizonta l with the horizon in a gene r a l north-south direction. Not knO\'ling ,.,hat i t wa s or its distance a r,.;ay I couldn't begi n to estimate its speed but I would estimate i t wa s le s s than one minute be f ore it finally disappe a red in the south. As it receded the light or glow turned greenish in color a n d f i nally vanished. \Jhen it was directl!J across from u s it appeared as an extremely brigh t ball of light with a short t ail. No sound was heard so it couldn't have been anything close by. All present agreed on what had bee n seen but no one came forth wit h any good suggestion a s to what we ha d just seen.
