The ATIC had those portions of Mr. film containing the so- called UFO enlarged for detai1edanalysis. The enlargements did not reveal any more detail then did the observations of the projected image or inspection of the film under a microscope. 2. The analysis of the film indicates the object was ~tationary, yet Mr. was not concerned enough to set closer photographs revealing greater detail. It is the opinion of the ATIC that the obvious reason is photographs taken closer would not have stood up under inspection. 3 The object was photograFhed for a total time of approximatelY six seconds. This was determined by counting the frames on which the object appeared. and knO\ving the running rate of the canera. 4 In view of the limited data available, the ATIC is unable to come to ru~ definite conclusion as to what the object is. H~fever, it ~ppears to be a reflection of some sort. Khowins the reputation of it is conceivable that he arranged for this reflection, a~1/or knows exactly what was photographed~ PREVIOUS (OITIONS OF THIS fORM MAY DE USED, 5 It is.the opinion of the ATIC t this is the photograph of a reflection, probably planned bJ H. K. GILBERr Colonel, USAF 5 Januar; 1959 Dear f.Ir. I am returning herewith the film you submitted to the united States Air Force for evaluation which you thought con- tained a pl10tograph of an unidentified :flying object The Air Technical Intelligt:nce Center had those portions of the fi~ containing the so-callod unidenti~ied flying obj ect enlarge d for detailed analysis . The enlargements did not reveal any more detail than did the observations of the projected image or inspection of the film unde r a microscope. The analysis of the film indicates the object vas stationary and ves photographe.d for a total time of approximately six se:coDds. Thia is based uron coWltir.g the frames onwh:lch the object appeared and knoving the running rate of t he camera It is the opinion of the ATIC that thio is a photograph of . reflection.
