Tnis office was ~elephonica~ contacted on 10 April 1958 by the. above Sucject who advied that she was in possession of some 8mm movie film whicc contained pictures of an unidentified flying object sighted by her in -che early part of 1958. Mrs w.s interviewed by Special Agent DOUGlAS W. ALEXANDER of this office on 11 April 1958 at which time she ?resented a reel containi~g 200 feet of 8mm film which she advised contained th~ pictures to above. Due to the lapse of time since the sighting, t~s unable to furnish sufficient information u~o~ which to reo complete information, purs,mnt to the provisions of perag_-eph 7d AFR 200-2; however) she furnished the follow- ing information: a. Film Data: Bolex H-8 DeLuxe, Swita.r Lens 1:1.5 (f.l2.5mm) Lens opening 1.5, aistance -infinity. ~ entire reel of film was over the !)er1od January to February 1958; however, be.sed on the sequence of ~e scenes in the film she estimated that the sighting would have taken plece during the period 1 to 9 January 1958. The pictures in- volving the Unidentified Flying Object were exposed at approximately 0100 to 0130 hours vit.h e. f'nll moon. Mrs tated tbat she first thought the o"tject to be an rmusually and observed it through a pair of bino~ ul e.rs for a period of about five minutes during which time it appeared to be moving towards her and increasing in size. She then aimed the camera at the object which appeared to be approaching her from a due west direction. At about this time the object turned at right angles and proceeded north. There was no sound accompanying the object. Mrs. advised that she was in the rear of her residence at 1226 Lathrop, River Forest taking pictures of the moon when she first observed the object. She further advised that she did not report the sighting at that time. Unidentified Flying ObJect Sighted by 2. Examination of the film at the 24th District OSI office through use of a standard 8mm motion picture projector disclosed that the portion ot film containing pictures of the alleged unidentified flying obJect is ap- proximately six inches in length. The film is color film and the obJect appears red-or.ange in color; however, no other identifYing features could be made due to the short period during which the ctures appear on the screen.
