November 7, 1957 Air Technical Intelligence Center Air Defense Cornman~ Colorado Sp-rings, Colorado Dear Si-rs: TCLitPHONit 1100 I am ~ondering if you have investigated this unknown and unidontif'i~d air craft which has been reported by a number or people at one ti~e a faYl miles North of IBvelland, and the sn.mn night a fe\J miles vlest of !Bvelland,and earlier the snmo night close to Palo Duro Canyon,and later the same night at \~hlto Sands, He\.J M:!xico. One of the m~n who saw the object 'Nhen it took off near levelland lives in Hereford. There Weto a number of people in the motor vehicle with him when th~ 11ot o-r \.Je Et dead a!'ld the lights went out. As the air ship, or ~hatever it was, rose fro~ the ground it passed directly (1ver his vel1icle and he felt consid9rable heat. I thought tll~Lt you might be int~ested if the informat~on had not reactt:..1d you ~ / ....... t even a bout 12:00 0 clock midnight, so~e of us saw a light \oJhich really didn't look too high but it t-raveled at a terrific rate of speed from the North to th~ South and \<1as about the size of a football. I naturally believe it \1as a meter of some sort but it \tlas b-righter t han usual and travel- ed in a straight cou~se and could only be seen a few seconds f-rom the time it entered into vie~r at the North a nd nassed out of vie,.-1 at the South.
