The object appeared to be brown in color and approximately si.x (6) inches in diameter. Its edges .were ragged and was curved as a portion of a b.a.lJ. Hr. cut a hole in the ice and gently t ouched the object with the blade of his ax. Th! object appeared to be metal to the best of his know- ~edge. On 9 1-f~rc.h 57~ an investigation team composed of Cap t Anthony, Capt Blue, T/Sgt MeNeU, and S/Sgt Jack visited the pond where the object supposecily fell. Observa- tions of the sunol.Dlding area showed no indication of burned tree tops, bushes, etc., -which would have caused by a low !lying burning object. Due to mild weather a large portion of the ice had melted and no trace remained of the hole described by Mr .. ~derson, nor was any object visible in the water 15. On 13 r.iarch 57, the investiga tion t ea m again visited t h e pond where the o b ject supposedly' fell. This time the t eam was equipped with l g e iger counter and l ion chamber . The pond and the suri"onnding area far 50 yards vtas thorou ghly probed. The . . ,highest reading recorded on the ~eiger counter was 1/ 1 00 o f a roentgen. The ion reading vas negative.
