C. 20025 Attention: UFO Project Officer Gentler.1en: San I:.ie?;o, California ':!2128 The numerous sightings of unidentifiec flying objects that are currently beinz ~epor~eci again brings to my mine a flyin~ object whic~ I observed about 10 years ago. I did not keep a record and do not know the exact date, but it is ;ust as vivid to me now as iT was t~e day it occurrec and I have puz=led over it many times since. As I recall, I reported it to the Strategic Air Command in Pasadena, but apparently it was assumed that I was some sort of a crackpot and little considaration was siven . I was handed a standard =orm prepared for reports of this type, but it was not appropriate, that is, it failed to bring ouL the unusual features involved, and the represe~ta tive that I talked to showed no interest in my story so I dropped the whole thing at this point. It no doubt ha~ little value so far as national security is concerned but I am thoro~ghly convinced beyond a shadow of doubt that the obj~ct was real and t:n::er control of some sort, as it defied all laws of gravity. It was at close range in broad daylight, with no possibility of an optical :2.1usion. :Io lights on it, no little crreen r:ten or anything lika that --just its movements were unusual. At anv rate, I feel that -the incident should be on record in case are others who have reported seeing similar objects and followin summary of the performance. I ,;as working at my desk on the 13th floor of the Federal "!uildin~, Los Angeles, when I casually looked out the windo~ anc saw at about the same level what I thOUf.ht must be a balloon, but its shape seemed peculiar and its r.ovement vtas not normal for a flQating tJlloon an~ it immediately at~racted my attention. fur~har examin1tion indicated that it balloon, ~ore o~long or slight metallic l uster. pear-shaoed. was larger tha~ a:: ordinar:,' r0y It was green in co!or with a I would estimate i t to h~ve been Official U.S. Air Fore ... 14.
