CURTIS, J R., Capt ain, Adjutant, J800th Air Base \Jing, tele~honically advised Speci a l Agent ATCHL.EY t hat GILBERT P . COHEN Officer of t h e Day , had at 1 530 hours , r eceived a telephone call from Iv,ayor, Sylacauga, Ala ba.ua to the effect that a large object e ither rock or metallic substance had fal l e n through the roof of' a house i n Sylacauga a f ew hours pr eviously, and said object had struck ~'1d injur ed a woman occupant of the house. HmJ.ARD s tated further that an explosion of some type had occurred in t he air over Sylacauga at approximately the same time as the object struck the house. HQI.JARD furthe r ad~rised that aircraft had been seen in the area just prior to the explosi on . HOWARD stat ed according to his informati on , the object had been hot vhen it Yas found on the floor of the house .
