PHYSICAL IYIDIMCI ATIC COHMnrra On the sue night as the attached sighting, at approximatel7 8z)O P.M., two ATIC technicians well versed in astronOII'O' also observed this object. There was no doubt in their minds but what the e.a~eet object was an extreme~ bright lt meteor which burned for about 5 to. 6 seconds on a downward path. According to these sources, the object had a green-white hue. ATIC feels that here is a goodcsample or how known phenomenon can cause widespread speculation due to an overly anxioU3 observer. The tact that a meteor sighting was carried in a Dayton paper and advertised as a possible saucer plus the fact that the Control Tower at Wright-Patterson was quoted as saying that they had no report which might explain 1t_,all m8kes for adverse pu.blicity,. and ia cent of 19$2 situations where a known object has touched ott a aaucer erase Uf4n.t\ SSIFlEP 0?11\A!liONa RSPtlt'.r '.l'be .toll~v1.ng 1tama or interest were noted in ProJect Blue Book oper3t1~na for the above data~: 1.
