This report object, while on concerns a three (3) to four (4) c inute obser1~tion of an dentified a test f light in an F-51 aircraft, on 12 Dece:nber 1951. -c r. Visibility on this day was exceptionally good. Obser vation was at 21 50Z on 12 Dece~ber 1951. Pilot was flyinb at 10 000!, unidentified object was at all times b~1ow the F-51 aircraft. Slayton ~as cru"!.sin.; :lt 10 and had just. pulled out of a loop a:1d . \las h eading back towards ~;old-Chamberlain Airfi9ld, when he first spotted a 'tmite object about one (1) f:1.ile out. and l,OOC! below his left 'dng tip (2) wnen the object \'laS first spotted it appeared to r ese:J.bl3 a kite, but the pilot asourned a ldte \'IOuld not normally be at this altituclt3.
