In conformance with instructions contained in reference (a) the following information is submitted. 2. raragraph 2(d) or enclosure (1) or reference (a) is used as a guide. (i) Object sighted was a white light, which flashed on orr ic a manner s~ilar to lights or commercial ei.rcrBft flyin~ at night. It is believed to have been circular in sb ape. No other inform tion could be given as to the shape, size, color, aerodynamic features, trail or exhaust, propulsion syste~, or sound. It is reported as having traveled at a high speed. The objact or lj~ht Jl"ade one tight circular turn an.d dis!ippeared traveling in a south-southeast- erly direction at an estimated altitude or 5000 feet. Observers disoounted the possibility or the object being a jet aircraft because the turn was too "tight" tor an aircraft to make. (2) Sighted at 2119R time and was observed tor not more than torty-rive (45) seconds (J) Observed visually, from control tower, Naval Air Dtation, Lakehurst, N.;., which'is situated on top ot Hanger No. 5, at a height or 265 teet. Binoculars were used as an aid to view the obj ect. UNCLASSIFIED. Runway #30 is a Northwest-Southeast runway. (5) There were no ether known witnPsses. The two observers have been assigned to duty j n the tower as operators tor the !>ast twenty-one months and are considered to be reliable, sine ere, and intelligent.
