This object was in level flight and in sight for from 2! t o 3 minutes f rom tiree of sighting. Object appeared to be disc s haped and flat, and from t he sun reflection appear ed t o be con- structed of metal similar to t hat used in airplanes. Ther a ~as no evidence of ex- haust or vapor trails, nor was ther e any sound from the object. Both stated th~t there was no $urface vdnd, that t he sky was void of clouds, a nd t hat t he object faded from view about t hree minutes afte r being sight ed. (B-2) AG@~'S NOTE: is 18 years of age and a senior at the Central High School, Knoxville, Tenn., where he has studied aeronautics for two years. 14 7ears o f age, but appears to be much older, and is a freshman at Central Hi gh School. Both appear to be intelligent young men and their answers to all questions .,;er e made without hesitation. On 7 September 1949, officials of the U.S . Vleather Bureau, l!cGe~Tyson Airport, Knoxville , Tenn.,stat ed that weather balloons were released at 0400 hr s., 1000 hrs., 1600 hrs., and 1800 hrs. daily by the Bureau.
