CAMBRE TITU REPOR r MADE AT SIGHTING OF FLYING DISC on 7 July 1949, at Barksdale AFB, La. New Orle by OFFICE OF ORIGIN Barksdale AFB, La. CHARACTEft SPECIAL IN~UIRY -UNCONVENTIONAL AIRCRAFT IU:FERENCE None. This is an initial report. on the morning of 7 July 1949, at a pproximately 0915 hours, the writer observed, at the foot of Prytania street near the Mississippi River, an object in the sky which was approxima'tely one a nd one-half (li) miles east at approximately twenty-five hundred ( 2500) feet alti- tude. This object appeared to be round or oval shape and was moving in a northerly direction and had a v ery bright a ppearance. When the writer first sighted this object, it was believed to be the reflection of the sun rays on an airplane which was in a very steep barut. The object remained in view for about thirty (30) or forty (40) seconds at which time it disappeared from sight over some trees. The fact that the shape of this object remained unchanged for such a long perio of time caused the writer to believe that the reflection was not caused by conventional type aircraft. ebWNGru. ,, ... ~G, AMC, Wright- Patterson AFB, Dayton, Ohio (Action cy w/1ncl) 2 BQ OSI w/1ncl 2 3d Region Cononander Conm:aanding General Air Materiel Command wright-Patterson AFB Dayton, Ohio (Info Cy w/incl) 1 EDWARD R.
