Appears to be or av"r"~ intelli,~enoe and oh&raot3r iIrl.RR .TIV~ Sl~TI L.RY: STATE!.lliNT a I, Arizona. was lay!n~ on my baok looking out the ':indow racing directly South, on Sunday ~ ~. 1949, and at about a 45 degree angle, very high in the s~, I could aee a round object. It seoraed to be trllvel inG aoross the horizon to the West. I thaD went outside and observed the object a nd it was due South from my house about tea degreea weat and I would judro:e it to be tv1o miles 1n the air . ..11en I tirst noticed thia objeot it was shaped like a footb~ll bladder. Them it aeemed to ohan-~e to a !'lat ahape. When I first noticed it, it appeared to be the aize of a tennio ball. 1'his objeot was white in oolor, a ppea r e d to be aolid and was travelin& Weat and wheD r-etting into the mountain West o f Tucson, turned llorth and bogan to rise at about a 45 degree angle. After it be~n to rise, this objeot diaappAred in appro tely two minutes. It was not traling fast, just a.pp.:tared to be drifting along. I do not think thia was L pieoe or paper or a~ other objeot blown into the air nor do I think it waa conventional airplane. I first si~htod thia objeot around Qlever. o olook in the mornin~ anJ i t aa in view for about ten or titteen minutes. There appoared to be no windows holea in this objeot nor did it seem to b~vtJ control auri'aoes of aJ\V type 1a1ble to the !laked eye. No suoke or exhust could be aoen ooadng from the bjeot and it reflected light. 1. D.J.tc of Obser v .. tion 8 Hay 1949 Tusoon, r~izol"'n l+. Position of observe r 5.
